Yanagisawa A991 alto saxophone. Professionally checked and overhauled a couple of years ago. Pads excellent. Rib Mounted - In this design the keys are mounted to a rib plate which in turn is mounted to the body. This not only gives added strength to the keywork, but has the added benefit of improved resonance and tonal stability. Double arms on the low B and C keys. This is to aid the accurate seating of the pads on the toneholes by helping to prevent warping of single arms on these bell keys. Distinctive underslung octave key. Gold lacquer worn in places. (this is not unusual for these horns). A very slight 4mm. "ding" next to the serial number. This can be seen in the photographs. No other faults. Original case. Approximately 2001 vintage and generally regarded as one of the best of the Yanagisawa horns. No mouthpeice included. (See my listing for a Jody jazz 6m hard rubber mouthpeice). This is a reluctant sale as I can no longer play, owing to a very severe case of Dupuytran's contracture. (look it up).
