Ariston RD80 1990s - Cherry

Ariston RD80 turntable. 1990s ( I think ) Mounting is for Linn arm. Will not work correctly with Rega arm. Turntable only, no arm, lid or lid mountings included.

In very good working condition. I tried to upload a short video of the deck in operation, but could only get the still photos to load.

Condition is generally very good, apart from: light dent in frame on RH side front top edge, chip on top surface behind arm mount. See photos.

Previous owner cut slot in rear of base plate. ( search me )Covered with tape. Not visible in normal use.

In common with many turntables of the period this is a suspended sub-chassis design. It has a heavily damped two-part high mass platter, ensuring accuracy of rotation speed and minimal transfer of mechanical noise to the cartridge. It was highly regarded, and seen as an attempt to follow the Sondek, albeit at a lower price point.

Will be securely packaged for posting and sent tracked and insured. Alternatively collection is welcome.
