A beautiful and very rare 2011 1960 Kurosawa 55th Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Standard.

This was hand selected to celebrate Kurosawa's 55th Anniversary in Japan. Japan has always had some of the best of Gibson guitars, and this example proves it.

Kurosawa is a famous guitar dealership in Japan and this was part of a special run to celebrate their 55th year in business. Kurosawa reps visited the U.S factory and hand selected these guitars. Just 55 of them.

It has 2 piece AA figured maple top nice wide maple flame and lots of mineral grain showing. The nitrocellulose finish has the lightly aged VOS top with compliments the lightly aged hardware including the bonus of factory Grovers.

The top is really lovely, with a beautiful, understated wavy appearance in light Iced Tea Burst finish. Difficult to find better.

An exceptional playing Les Paul and in all original condition with its pair of factory fitted Custombucker Alnico IIIs (not the BurstBuckers found on standard historic reissues) and bumble bees. Custombucker Alnico III gives a wide, warm tone range, differing from the more common BurstBucker on other reissues. Over 45 years of playing I have had eight Les Pauls. This one is without doubt the best sounding one. Think Pearly Gates, or Mick Taylor.

Great weight for a R0 of 4.2kg.

No issues, no breaks, repairs or modifications. Light playwear with some buckle rubbing to the back and a nice patina over all the metal hardware giving it a great aged feel.

Complete with original Custom Shop hard shell case and all case candy including the 55th Anniversary Kurosawa truss rod cover.
