The lesser spotted, but just as awesome, Ernie Ball Music Man Sabre! Introduced in 1978, the Sabre was intended to offer more versatility than the Stingray bass. Dual humbucking pickups, two band EQ and pick-up selector switch all help to offer a broader range of sounds. 

Production of the Sabre continued after Ernie Ball purchased Music Man, and this model is a great example. Jet black finish with a dark rosewood fretboard is accompanied by a stunning birdseye maple neck and classic Music Man bass hardware and bridge construction. The Sabre's USP is the tonal warmth from the neck pickup, mixing nicely with the classic Music Man bridge pickup, to offer a sound all of its own. 

This bass is more than just a footnote in the history Ernie Ball Music Man bass, its a genuinely interesting and expressive instrument that has aged well in both sound and construction. It's in full working order and is ready to reclaim the spotlight in a diverse range of genres. The bass is currently strung with half-wounds, which accentuates its tonal adaptability.
