Vintage Roland RE-201 Space Echo tape delay / spring reverb, made in Japan.
Serial number: 533677. Based on commonly used Roland vintage serial dating, this appears to suggest December 1976, though this has not been independently confirmed by Roland.
This is the classic RE-201 Space Echo, known for its warm analog tape echo, spring reverb, characterful preamp tone and self-oscillation. It features mic inputs, instrument input, From P.A. input, output, 12-position mode selector, repeat rate, intensity, echo volume, reverb volume, bass and treble controls.
The rear plate shows this is a Japanese 100V unit. A UK plug and step-down converter are included as pictured. Please make sure the correct voltage conversion is used before powering it from UK mains.
Cosmetically, the unit is in very good vintage condition for its age, with visible signs of use including age-related marks, scratches, tarnishing to metal parts and general wear. Please check all photos carefully as they form part of the description.
Included:
- Roland RE-201 Space Echo unit
- Attached power cable
- UK plug
- Step-down converter shown in photos
Important note: this is a vintage tape echo machine, so the buyer should expect normal maintenance for age, such as cleaning, tape replacement, demagnetising, calibration or servicing depending on intended use.
Tested and working. Tape transport runs, echo and reverb are functioning, and the controls respond as expected.
