An omnidirectional dynamic mic from 50s or early 60s. Originally used for speech and has quite a limited frequency response (heads south at 200hz and 10k). Perfect as a crush mic for blending into your recordings.
Used at Abbey road and featured in the book Recording the beatles. The White Stripes named a song after it when they recorded at Toerag studios, "Ball and biscuit". Phil Collin's "In the air" drum sound where created with one of these.
Since i could find any adapter i have only used it with alligator clips, but it sounds pretty good. You will need this adapter to utilize it more efficiently:
