Japanese made Squier & Fender instruments have long been the go-to for musicians looking for guitars with vintage Fender tone and style that won't cost as much as their USA made counterparts. Guitars made by Fender Japan in the '80s & '90s have become somewhat collectible in their own right, with an amazing build quality for the price. This 1983 Squier Telecaster is from the early 'SQ' serial number run manufactured by the FujiGen Factory in Japan. This guitar features a typical Telecaster body finished in a sleek black gloss, with a tinted gloss lacquer maple neck and fingerboard, Gotoh made machine heads and three ply black guard. The neck profile is the familiar comfortable 'C' shape, and the body is fitted with a set of vintage style single coil pickups.
This guitar is in very good condition, with only minor signs of play wear to speak of. It is original with the exception of the 3 way selector switch, which has been replaced. This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
