The Rosendahl MIF 4 is a professional MIDI timecode interface designed to convert between LTC (SMPTE) timecode and MTC (MIDI Timecode) or USB MIDI, with full MMC (MIDI Machine Control) support. Its I/O is built for serious studio integration: a balanced XLR LTC input and output (with adjustable output level up to +8dBu), 5-pin DIN MIDI in and out, a USB Type B port for class-compliant MIDI, and a BNC video sync input that auto-detects PAL, NTSC, and HD tri-level standards. The unit reads forward, reverse, and stationary LTC, automatically identifies frame rates (24, 25, 30, DF), and employs Rosendahl sync algorithms to suppress timecode jitter and dropouts. A 0.56-inch 7-segment LED display shows timecode, user bits, calibration data, and reference sync at a glance. The MIF 4 is USB bus powered and fits in a compact 1U-height enclosure weighing just 0.6 kg, making it equally at home in a fixed rack or a portable sync rig.
