8008 Valvestate Stereo Power Amplifier – 1991/2

Original 1991/2 Marshall 8008 Valvestate stereo power amplifier, a highly regarded solid-state rack power amp from Marshall’s early-’90s Valvestate era. This is the rarer black version .Built in England, the 8008 was designed to deliver clean, fast, high-headroom power for professional rack systems, and remains a favourite for stereo, wet/dry, and preamp-based rigs.

The 8008 is a true dual-mono stereo power amp, rated at 2 × 80 watts RMS into 4 ohms, with independent level controls per channel. It is known for its tight low end, punchy mid response, and neutral voicing, making it an ideal partner for classic rack preamps (JMP-1, ADA MP-1, Rocktron, etc.) as well as modern digital modellers.

Unlike valve power amps, the 8008 offers rock-solid reliability, consistent tone at any volume, and minimal maintenance — one of the reasons it was widely used in touring racks throughout the 1990s.
