Personal Thoughts:
This is a very classy Strat and one of the more interesting modern Fender limited models. The Rarities Series always worked well when Fender used it to combine familiar core designs with more unusual wood choices, and this is a great example of that. The roasted alder body with quilt maple top gives it a much richer, more premium look than a standard American Original, while the solid rosewood neck adds another big step up in feel and visual appeal. That combination makes it feel a bit more special and a bit less expected than the usual vintage-style Strat formula. I also like that Fender kept the rest of the spec fairly traditional, because the Pure Vintage '65 gray-bottom set, gold anodized guard and ’60s-style neck shape keep it rooted in classic Strat territory. A very attractive and very tasteful USA Fender.
