Offered here is an exceptionally rare, all-original, and remarkably clean 1995 Orville by Gibson ES-335, built at the renowned FujiGen factory and complete with its factory warranty card. Finished in a beautifully mellow cherry over maple, the guitar also features some distinctive birdseye figuring throughout the top and back.

Included in the sale is a new after-market hardcase.

While Orville by Gibson ES-335s are already becoming increasingly difficult to find, the 1995 FujiGen-built examples are particularly scarce. This was the only year production took place at FujiGen, with very limited numbers made, whereas earlier models from 1988–1994 were produced at the Terada factory.

What truly sets the 1995 models apart is their construction and styling, which lean far closer to a true 1959 ES-335 than the more ’60s-inspired specifications of the earlier Orville examples.

Key features include a nitrocellulose lacquer finish, the classic “Mickey Mouse ears” body shape, long-tenon neck joint, fret-end binding nibs, a chunky ’59-style neck profile, and a pair of Gibson USA ’57 Classic PAF-style humbuckers. Add a long pickguard and you have the complete late-’50s ES-335 aesthetic.

The overall build quality, finish work, and components are noticeably superior to the earlier Terada-built models, placing this guitar comfortably alongside high-end early-’80s Greco and Tokai ES-style instruments. It is also exceptionally resonant, with a lively and responsive acoustic character.

Condition-wise, the guitar is fully functional with no breaks, cracks, or structural repairs. Cosmetically, it presents in exceptionally clean condition, showing only a handful of light surface marks consistent with careful use over the years.

The neck is straight and comfortable, offering an effortless playing experience, while all 22 frets retain plenty of life. The all-original electronics function exactly as they should, and the nickel hardware displays a light natural patina that perfectly complements the guitar’s well-preserved vintage character.
