Epiphone Blackstone c.1950
Serial number 59165. The Epiphone Blackstone was a popular archtop guitar, introduced in 1931 at the height of big band and swing music. This particular example is a non cutaway option made towards the end of its production. Constructed with a 16 3/8” carved arched Spruce top with maple back & sides and finished with an iconic two tone “Burst” finish and fully bound. The original hanger tailpiece, two piece bridge, and faux tortoiseshell pickguard are present. The neck is made of multi-ply walnut and maple, with an ebony fingerboard and attractive mother of pearl inlays, straight neck, excellent frets. The overall condition is very good condition with some age related marks. Case supplied.
