1988 Epiphone Japan Sheraton Vintage Sunburst w/Bigsby, w/HSC, MIJ, Terada Factory

Up for grabs is a 1988 Made in Japan Epiphone Sheraton, finished in Vintage Sunburst over a beautifully figured maple body and fitted with a retrofitted US-made Bigsby B7. Not only does it add another dimension to the playing experience, but it also completes an undeniably killer aesthetic.

These Terada Factory-built Sheratons—originally produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market—have earned a stellar reputation as some of the finest Sheraton reissues ever made, often surpassing their contemporary counterparts in both craftsmanship and feel. This particular example is no exception, displaying a level of build quality that rivals, and in some respects exceeds, many American-made examples.

Condition-wise, the guitar presents beautifully and is fully functional. Cosmetically, there are a few points worth noting: there are visible remnants on the top, just below the bridge, from what appears to have been a previously installed tremolo system, as pictured. Additionally, both strap button positions were previously relocated, leaving three professionally plugged holes, including one the left horn. The strap buttons have since been returned to their correct factory positions.

Aside from these details and the expected general play wear consistent with a 38-year-old instrument, this Sheraton remains in excellent overall condition, with no major dings, structural breaks, or repairs.

The neck is in excellent condition—straight, with plenty of life remaining in the frets, and a fully functional truss rod.
