A versatile 5-string PB!

Xotic, a brand founded in 1996 in the USA by Hiro Miura, has gained strong support from numerous professional musicians for its high-precision custom basses.

The XP series is designed in a workshop in Los Angeles, USA, and manufactured in Japan.

This particular instrument features the old logo and is believed to be an early model with a serial number in the 30s.

While the XP series is based on a Fender-like traditional sound, it doesn't have a punchy, gritty sound; instead, it's characterized by a flat, clean tone.

The EQ is also gently applied, avoiding the harsh, flashy sound often found in modern basses, thus achieving a beautiful sound within its "traditional" character.

Compared to a Jazz Bass, it has a thicker sound, and while it possesses the characteristics of a Precision Bass, such as a rich low end from the low B string, it's not quirky, making it a highly versatile instrument that, in a good way, makes you think, "Is this really a Precision Bass?"
