General introduction and background:

Beautifully preserved Framus Sorento 6. According to the date stamp on the back of the head – 70F – it was made in June 1970 in (West) Germany. The Sorento 6 was a matte finish model with natural finished multistripe maple neck. It is completely hollow, but the f-hole is painted on (like on a Gretsch Tennessean). The pickups are Billy Lorento types and can be compared to a P90. So the guitar is effectively something like the German Epiphone Casino or ES-330.

As always, the instrument has been serviced completely and is ready to be played immediately. But please read the description carefully!

Measurements, weight and other specs:

-Scale:  628 mm

-Nut: ca 4,05 cm

-Weight: 2,72 kg

-Pickups: 2x Billy Lorento-singlecoils, measuring 5,5k each. Master Volume, master tone pots, 3 way toggle.

-Body: completely hollow, thinline, yet closed off (f-hole is painted on). Probably all laminated mahogany.

-Neck:  soft D-shape, slim, maple stripes with rosewood fretboard. Flat radius with medium jumbo frets.

Condition:

-Body: excellent condition with little to no dings and dongs or scratches.

-Neck: straight and very good condition, frets have minor crevasses, no buzz or deadpots. The finish has discoloured unevenly on the back.

-Head: good condition

-Hardware: signs of aging, but in good condition.

-Electrics: works

-Originality: all original; bridge pickup ring has been lifted with shims a bit to bring the bridge pickup closer to the bridge.

Sound and Playability:

-Playability and string action: the guitar plays very well with a very low string action.

-Sound: Please check out the video for a sound demo. The Sorento has a unique vintage sound, well suited for a variety of styles.

As always, the instrument has been serviced completely and is ready to be played immediately.

-Completely cleaned

-Frets polished, fretboard cleaned and oiled

-Electronics cleaned and serviced

-Neck set straight

-Pro setup of neck, string action, pickup height and intonation

-New 10 gauge all nickel Pyramid strings put on – play it in!

Auxiliary stuff:

-No case or gigbag included. The item will be wrapped well, and put into a sturdy cardboard box with lots of filler material. If you need a case, a 4/4 classical guitar case will fit well. I can buy one at your cost for the shipping, just let me know.

Please note that I will only take the item back entirely, but not grant any reduction of price and generally only accept returns if the item was unaltered after arrival.
