*RARE* Benhayon Percussion Synthesizer - 4U 19” Panel, Minijack I/O

Build by Finlay Shakespeare in Bristol, this particular Benhayon Percussion Synthesizer has been fitted with minijack I/O, and so is patchable with Eurorack compatible modular synthesizers! It features adapted circuits from Ciat-Lonbarde systems such as the Rollz-5. I have absolutely loved experimenting with this unit, but sadly it is time to let it go to a new home.

Worth mentioning - the +12VDC barrel jack socket is on the top of this unit (pictured), rather than the rear - this is for convenience when racked in a desktop or ‘mixer style’ flight case. This unit does not come with the pictured flight case included, although I could be persuaded to sell them together for a reasonable offer if you’re interested.

Here are a few words from Finlay that help to describe the nature of this experimental beast:

A collection of rather peculiar circuits, adapted for use amongst other modular synthesizer systems.

The Impulse Generators have three-position range switches per node, as well as two square wave generators nestled amongst them, each also with three-position frequency range switches.

The Aliasing Filters have had their frequency ranges extended as far as possible, and also present control inputs for patching from modulation sources.

The Temporal Windowing Resonators come in two pairs - one "extended" pair, and one "standard" pair.

In the extended Resonators, modulation inputs are present for the Rate (windowing), Frequency (more of an "FM input" than a pitch control input, with the switch to take the modulation upward / off / downard), and Decay (more of a "choke" input when sent negative). Audio inputs are present for the Resonators to be used as filters.

The Convulsion VCAs are fitted with CV inputs which, akin to the Resonators, behave more as modulation inputs rather than a standard VCA CV input.
