This is a classic vintage amplifier in great working order, despite it's age. Please read the following service notes carefully. The service work that has been done to keep the amp in tip top working order.
- All screen grid resistors have been replaced this year. The originals had become toasted.
- The bias caps had become leaky and were replaced (the blue ones pictured).
- The original AC coupling capacitors were passing a small amount of DC onto the power tube grids, so these have been swapped (the yellow ones).
- The cab impedance selector socket was replaced, though the original three-pin plug is on there.
- At some point earlier in its life the output transformer was replaced; we believe the one in it now is from an OR120. Because of this, the amplifier isn't capable of 100V line operation, but I doubt anyone uses this anymore anyway.
- The power valves have been replaced with JJ EL34 II valves.
I have kept the original components that were removed (although I don't have the original Mullards or the original transformer). I've played it with the 15Ohm setting and it sounds lovely.
The amp is missing some feet at the bottom.
This is a fantastic piece of British amplifier history, and sadly I am selling because I don't have the space for it anymore. I no longer have a cabinet so can't use it anymore.
