When I began creating Ocean Flare Drop, I kept returning to a single image - that fleeting moment when sunlight breaks through the ocean’s surface and dances across the deep.
There’s power in that contrast - calm and force, nature and precision - and I wanted to capture that feeling in both sound and form.The one-piece Olive Ash Burl top, with its swirling grain and golden reflections, felt like the perfect expression of that energy - waves caught in light.
I paired it with a light turquoise figured surface, echoing the ocean’s calm at dawn, and a deep Purpleheart neck-through back to ground it, like the depths below where mystery and strength live.The Olive Ash Burl inlays carry that same rhythm - like fragments of sunlight drifting beneath the surface, uniting the design with quiet continuity. Every detail was shaped to bridge opposites - organic warmth with modern clarity.
The Ebony elements and precision aluminum resonance module bring that dialogue to life, allowing the instrument to breathe between two worlds: earth and water.To me, Ocean Flare isn’t just a guitar. It’s a reflection of balance - how light can emerge from depth, and how sound can hold both peace and power at once.
