1961 Fender Jazzmaster, serial: 55927. Sunburst finish in good condition. Aside from the switch tip and some additional sponge under the pickups, this Jazzmaster is all original, including the case. It has a beautiful tortoiseshell pickguard and a slab rosewood fingerboard with clay dots. It's an amazing guitar to play, and it sounds fantastic. It comes supplied with a Mastery M1 bridge, should you wish to use it.

The Sunburst remains pretty strong throughout. There are numerous small nicks and dings, mainly around the edges of the body. The finish on the back of the neck has worn smooth. The edges of the headstock have some wear, but nothing major, and everything remains structurally sound with no breaks or repairs. The pickguard is in great condition with only minimal shrinkage and no warping. The frets have been cleaned and dressed in our workshop. Theyre on the lower side but still have some life left. The fingerboard has playwear. All hardware and electronics are in good working order, including the truss rod, which works correctly.

This guitar has been set up in our workshop with a fresh set of Ernie Ball strings and a medium-low action. The body has a pencil date of 9/60. The neck is pencil-dated 2/61. The tone pot dates to the 43rd week of 60, the volume pot, 50 th week of 59. Both pickups are original with black bobbins and original windings. Weight 8 lbs 4.5 oz / 3.75 kg. Nut width: 42. mm. Depth at 1st fret: 21.5 mm. 

The Jazzmaster was launched in mid 1958 as the top of the range Fender guitar, and featured Fender’s first neck with a rosewood fretboard. It's an incredible Rock’n’Roll and Surf guitar and was a firm favourite of 90s bands like Nirvana, Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine.
