The Huss & Dalton OM Custom is a refined, boutique-grade orchestra model built for players who demand nuance, balance, and exceptional craftsmanship. At its core is a striking curly redwood top (Sequoia sempervirens), prized for its quick response and rich overtone content, delivering a warm, complex voice with remarkable sensitivity to touch. This is paired with exquisitely figured Claro walnut (Juglans hindsii) back and sides, offering a tonal blend that sits beautifully between mahogany’s focus and rosewood’s depth, with excellent clarity and projection.
Internally, Adirondack spruce braces, assembled with traditional hot hide glue construction, provide strength, headroom, and long-term tonal maturity. Elegant koa bindings on the body, fingerboard, and headstock add a subtle visual warmth that complements the natural wood palette, while an abalone rosette and backstrip provide understated luxury without excess.
The Honduran mahogany neck offers stability and comfort, joined to an ebony fingerboard and Neo-Pyramid bridge for crisp articulation and sustain. With no fingerboard inlays, the aesthetic remains clean and purposeful, allowing the natural materials to speak for themselves. Premium gold Waverly tuning machines with snakewood buttons ensure smooth, precise tuning and complete the instrument’s refined presentation.
Lightweight at just 3 lb 12 oz, this OM is exceptionally comfortable to play and perfectly suited for fingerstyle, light to medium flatpicking, and dynamic studio or stage work. It ships in a hard case for optimal protection.
