Turn your bass into a full blown funk machine with the MXR Bass Synth. Designed in collaboration with bassist and tone authority Ian Martin Allison, this pedal delivers monophonic synth tones packed with attitude, depth and classic analogue character. From rubbery funk lines to massive industrial bass textures, the MXR Bass Synth brings intergalactic grooves straight to your pedalboard.

Classic Synth Vibes for Modern Players

Drawing inspiration from legendary recordings by Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Parliament Funkadelic and more, the MXR Bass Synth recreates the feel and flavour of vintage analogue bass synths while offering the reliability and control of a modern pedal. Thunderous sub octave depth, expressive filter sweeps and lush modulation combine with excellent tracking and sustain.

Shape Your Funk

A powerful yet intuitive control layout lets you sculpt every element of your sound. Blend in massive low end with the Sub Mix control, dial in shimmering movement or wild pulses using the Mod knob, and fine tune the filter response with Envelope, Cutoff and Resonance controls. From tight, percussive bounce to slow, syrupy sweeps, the MXR Bass Synth responds dynamically to your playing.

The Voice button adds extra harmonically tuned oscillators for richer textures, while the Shape button lets you select your waveform. Choose smooth triangle tones, aggressive sawtooth grit or punchy square wave weight.

Instant Groove Presets

For players who want to dive straight in, the MXR Bass Synth includes eight factory presets created by Ian Martin Allison. Inspired by iconic synth bass sounds from tracks such as Thriller, Chameleon, Sledgehammer and Head Like a Hole, these presets are instantly accessible at the touch of a button.

Advanced Control for Deep Tweaking

Dig deeper with additional parameters covering oscillator and modulation balance, compression and tracking behaviour. Stereo output support expands your rig possibilities, while compatibility with external footswitches allows hands free preset cycling. The pedal also integrates with Volume X series pedals for advanced blending and configuration control.

Built for Stage and Studio

Whether you are covering classic pop lines, anchoring modern worship tones, recording experimental music or touring internationally, the MXR Bass Synth delivers reliable performance and unmistakable synth character night after night.
