High end tonewoods throughout, main wood is figured Hawaiian Koa.
The reinforced 7 piece neck includes strips of flamed maple and another mahogany like wood, assumed to be walnut?
There is a pickup on board with a volume knob and abalone inlays throughout, including around the distinctive soundhole. The clear finish has all the tell tale crazing of nitro cellulose lacquer and there are a few playing marks present. Aesthetically superb with a detailed tone. Bridge and fingerboard appear to be Rosewood. Equipped with flamenco/banjo style tuners. Comes with good quality hard shell case as pictured.
Our understanding is Leilani, the founder of the brand, was a Japanese luthier who relocated to Florida USA and has since sadly passed. This ukelele was purchased in approx 2010 for £1500 and really is a stunner. It has a serial number but this hasn't produced a date from our research. Not a Leolani brand ukelele, which is a hawaiian company.
