Headway HC 315 Handmade in Japan - Natural

Headway HC-315, hand-built in Matsumoto, Nagano, Japan by the Headway workshop established by Yasuo Momose.

Headway occupies a position comparable to high-end boutique acoustic builders, producing instruments that regularly sit alongside premium US-made acoustic guitars in both build quality and tonal response.

This model uses a solid European spruce top paired with solid Indian rosewood back and sides, supported by scalloped forward-shifted X-bracing for increased responsiveness and dynamic range.

Tonally, the guitar is open, balanced, and highly articulate, with strong projection and clear note separation across the frequency range. It responds well to both light fingerstyle and more aggressive strumming, maintaining definition without compression.

The Fishman INK4 system provides a high-quality onboard amplification solution, with a side-mounted control interface designed for live performance control over EQ and blend functions.

Additional features include a cutaway for upper fret access and an upper bout sound port, improving the player’s ability to hear the natural acoustic response on stage.

Specification includes 644mm scale length, 44.5mm nut width, Gotoh SG301 tuners, and a thin urethane finish designed to protect the instrument while maintaining acoustic responsiveness.
