8 digitally controlled Channels of the acclaimed Millennia HV-3 mic preamp circuit used by masters in critical acoustic recording worldwide, packed in a lightweight 2U aluminium rack.

At its heart, the HV-3R boasts eight of the most transparent mic preamp design available, with transformerless input, balanced audio path and minimal amp design. Its sub 3Hz to over 300kHz frequency response ensures extremely nuanced performance.

I've chosen this model because it's lightweight and suitable for a portable 20-channel recording rig when paired with another 12 mic preamp interface. Digital local and remote control makes configuring, saving and recalling different channel configurations a snap, very useful in live recording sessions (when directors and artists assume no time is required to set up the rig :-).

The unit comes in mint condition, with original packaging, documentation and accessories.

On the rear panel I added a DB-25 connector in parallel to XLR out for convenient wiring when using portable rigs (my typical use case). Modification has been made with high quality components: golden plated DB-25 connector, Sommer Cable SC-Goblin OFC cable and tin-silver soldering wire. This DB-25 connector duplicates OUT 1-8 and has been wired according to TASCAM standard layout. See photo of the real panel.

Pictures and videos document the testing session I always do before selling equipment. In this case I tested the HV-3R with an array of mics (black) on inputs 1-8, and outputs 1-8 connected to an audio interface on channels 1-8. Another fantasy array of four mics (champagne) were connected to channels 9-12 of the audio interface. Meanwhile, some sound source was playing around (nothing much elaborated, it has been a simple but effective test).
