Like most Fender models, the Fender Princeton amp has undergone many circuit revisions and stylistic changes since its introduction in 1946, with each generation having characteristics that have helped to shape the sound of different musical generations. The Tweed Princeton, like many other Fender amps of the era, have long been considered the pinnacle of vintage tube tone, and although not all models have the headroom required for stage use, the natural breakup and saturation of this smaller 4 1/2 Watt, single ended Class A tweed is something every collection needs. A fantastic recording amplifier for clean and grittier sounds, this 1960 Fender Princeton is an excellent example of a later period tweed Princeton in superb condition, and would have been one of the last out of the factory before the 6G2 circuit revision arrived in 1961.

This amp is in excellent cosmetic condition for its age, with only minor wear on the lower and upper corners of the tweed covering, and the grill cloth in fantastic condition. Internally, this amp is clean and original, with the exception of replaced filter caps and a newer 3 pin USA spec power cord having been added. The original 8" AlNiCo speaker is present and correct, as is the leather handle, tube chart control knobs and all other hardware. Both pots date to the 43rd week of 1960 (137 6043), and the amp is still running on US voltage so will require a step-down transformer to use.
