This guitar is a BEAST.
It has played hundreds of concerts, and I have followed its career as it was made for a dear friend of mine when we were both students at FSU. This guitar is one of a kind, a juxtaposition of Smallman’s design and Chapman’s own ingenuity. The sound of the instrument reflects this, with the power and clarity of a Smallman but with the sweetness and lyrical voice of a New England guitar.
While it shares some signature characteristics of Greg Smallman’s guitars, the design of this guitar is very original. It is the heaviest classical guitar I can remember, at 5.6 lbs. Alan Chapman added a counterweight to the headstock to help balance the instrument.
Scale is 655mm and 52mm nut.
Wicked awesome Gilbert tuners.
Includes a Crossrock fiberglass case.
