Choosing the right materials for a guitar is important. A good top or fretboard should look good, but it also needs to be a stable base for hardware, it needs to be dense, so it doesnt absorb too much string vibration (and so it is structurally strong) but percussive enough to add a bit of its own tonal flavour to the sound of the guitar. So, why then strike the strings with a little bit of moulded plastic?
Most of my plectrums are individually cut and hand carved from spare wood from my guitar tops and fretboards and have been selected for their density, tone and aesthetic beauty. It is a long and difficult process that usually leaves me with sore fingers, but the result is a warm, comfortable play that adds a little tonal uniqueness to your guitar!
My plectrums currently come in a standard and XL Jazz III type shape, I tend to keep mine on the thinner side, so the grip end is usually around 2-3mm tapering to a fine point. If you are looking for something a bit more custom, please do feel free to get in touch with me directly. Also, if you are looking for a nice way to store and transport your plectums, check out my boxes, made from guitar off-cuts, they are green and awesome!

Osmo Oil, poly gloss
Care
These plectrums will wear naturally, I would advise the use of occasional reapplication of a little Osmo Oli (or bees wax) leave to absorb for a short while then burnish with a soft cloth or fleece.
