1971 Hiwatt DR103 Custom 100 – Hand-Wired Hylight Era – Fully Serviced

Description:

A genuine early-1970s hand-wired Hylight-era Hiwatt Custom 100 (DR103), the legendary British 100-watt EL34 head used by Pete Townshend, David Gilmour, and countless others.

This amp is missing its rear serial number plate (please see photos), which I am disclosing upfront. However, the amp has been comprehensively dated using internal components:

• Mains transformer: Original Partridge TG9302 with date code H1-series, consistent with early 1970 winding
• Output transformer: Original Partridge TG5479
• Pots: RS Components, dated week 41 and week 48 of 1971 (October/November 1971), establishing assembly no earlier than late November 1971
• Chassis layout, eyelet board construction, and component selection consistent with late 1971 / early 1972 Hylight production

Service and Restoration

• Full cap job
• One pot replaced
• All other original components retained and tested
• Fully serviced by qualified amp tech

Condition and Function

• All channels (Normal and Brilliant) test fine
• No scratchy pots
• Tested and working to spec
• Cosmetically honest with age-appropriate wear (see photos)
