The Custom 22 is one of PRS's most popular guitars. Bearing a striking resemblance to the brand's flagship Custom 24 model, the Custom 22 retains many signature PRS features such as the elegant flying bird fingerboard inlays, dual humbuckers and 25" scale. But as its name suggests, this instrument features 22 frets instead of 24 — with its shorter fingerboard allowing the neck pickup to be mounted further away from the bridge to yield a warmer, vintage tone.

This affordable SE version of the iconic Custom 22 adheres to the formula of its US-made "Core" series counterpart, but boasts a stylish semi-hollow body construction that produces an airier sound with plenty of natural resonance. Finished in a gorgeous colour, this instrument's versatile sonics and remarkable playability makes it suitable for all styles!

Rich Mahogany Body

The PRS SE Custom 22 Semi-Hollow sports a Mahogany body, delivering a warm sound with plenty of harmonic richness in the mid-range. Adorned with an amazing Flamed Maple top veneer top that boasts a shallow violin carve akin to its far more expensive Core Custom 22 counterpart — this electrifying guitar's beauty is guaranteed to inspire you to pick it up and play for hours on end.

"Wide Thin" Neck

Joining the body is a bright-sounding Maple neck shaped to PRS' contemporary "Wide Thin" profile. While the material adds plenty of top-end snap to give notes more clarity and immediacy, the unique neck carve provides an incredibly modern and playable feel. The neck is also topped with a silky-smooth Rosewood fingerboard that offers a luxurious touch under the fingers.

85/15 "S" Pickups

The pickups in this guitar are based on the acclaimed 85/15 humbuckers that have recently been used in PRS' US-made models. Paul Reed Smith famously said that these would have been the perfect pickups back in 1985 because they're hot enough to give you all of the punchy high-gain tones you'd ever need, but they clean up beautifully too. Crystal-clear and articulate — without any top-end harshness!
