Description:

A genuine 1972 Hylight-era Hiwatt Custom 100 (DR103), serial plate present (SN 3744), comprehensively restored after sustaining shipping damage. This is a fully working, properly restored amp, but the restoration history is significant and disclosed in full below. Please read everything before bidding.

Authentication and Dating

• Original rear serial plate present: SN 3744
• Mains transformer: Original Partridge TG9302, date code H2073
• Output transformer: Original Partridge TG5479, date code H1422
• Chassis layout and construction consistent with 1972 Hylight production
• Component dating consistent with Hylight's standard practice of using factory-stocked transformers and caps in later assemblies

Damage and Restoration History (Disclosed in Full)

This amp suffered damage in shipping but has been comprehensively restored

Specifics:

• Headshell cabinet: Split from the bottom during shipping. Properly glued and clamped back together using wood glue. Structural repair is sound — the joint is now stronger than the surrounding wood.
• Transformer: The mains transformer worked loose during the impact. Tech has remounted properly and replaced one set of transformer bell ends. Mounting is now sturdier than before.
• Rear and upper vent mesh: Damaged where the loose transformer made contact during the fall. Functional but cosmetically imperfect (see photos).
• Tolex: Honest wear with some separation around the seams and edges

• Full cap job
• New JJ EL34 power tubes installed
• Two new knobs fitted (matching style)
• Fully serviced by qualified amp tech
• All original removed components retained for provenance
