For Sale is my Ibanez HD1000 Harmonics/Delay unit. I have had this since new, bought in 1983. This is quite unique and is quite rare. The cosmetic condition is fair as the unit is over 38 years old. The electronic condition is good as all the functions work without problems. The harmoniser is polyphonic. The harmoniser and delay are two separate entities which can only be used individually. No manual for it, although there are manuals online. The unit is simple to operate. There is a diagram on top of the unit that depicts several settings that can be dialed in. Home use only, used in home studio, smoke and pet free. Stored in a lock up as surplus to requirement. Reason for sale is that I have no more use for it. UK Buyers Only
HD1000 at a glance.
19" rack mounting system, measuring 1¾" (1U) high and has a metallic grey and bronze finish.
A liquid crystal display shows the state of the system at all times offers a great deal of information without being needlessly complicated. The mode of the system (either Bypass, Delay or Harmoniser) is shown, together with the delay time in milliseconds or the amount of pitch shift. A useful feature is the inclusion of a simple linear VU meter which shows the level of the signal after it has passed through the input buffer amplifier. Controls
Six colour-coded push buttons are used to select the mode and the delay time. In delay mode the delay time is permanently displayed. It may be incremented and decremented (in steps of 2ms) using two of the push buttons over the range 0-126 ms. Three ranges are available - x1, x2 and x4 - giving a maximum possible delay of 504 ms. A further push button steps successively between the ranges. These three controls have been carefully thought out and any desired delay may be quickly selected.
An internal modulation voltage is available with variable range (Width) and repetition rate (Speed). This can be used to obtain flanging, chorus and vibrato. A feedback pot determines the amount of the output signal which is allowed for regeneration.
The pitch shift may be adjusted over a range greater than ±14 semitones and is shown on the LCD (when in harmony mode) in 'cents', 100 cents being equal to 1 semitone. Coarse and fine adjustments are provided to allow the interval to be set up accurately. Up to 1300 cents or 13 semitones pitch shift up and down. Melodic harmony, octaves up and down, micro-shift doubling and shimmering pitch shift effects are easy with the HD1000. The pitch shift may be modulated for true vibrato and dramatic pitch-bending effects. Also provides up to 126 milliseconds of full bandwidth digital delay and up to a total or 504 milliseconds at a reduced bandwidth. Studio-quality flanging, chorus, doubling, hard reverb, slapback and long echo are all possible with the HD1000. The LCD displays unit status, pitch shift, delay time and input level, all in real time.
Finally three level potentiometers control the input amplifier gain, the dry output level and the processed output level.
