This pedal is based on the classic fuzz face circuit with some additional modifications. I added a 250ka potentiometer at the input to allow the user to attenuate the guitars signal, like your guitar's volume pot. Other mods include a reverse audio fuzz pot, and a 250ka volume pot (normal setting is full clockwise). I also included an additional power filtering capacitor, and a smoothing capacitor between the collector and base of the BC182 transistor.
This pedal uses higher gain transistors. Q1 is BC183 and has a recorded hFE of about 220 on my Peak meter. Q2 is a BC182 and has a recorded hFE of about 390. This pedal is true bypass and was built with quality alpha potentiomers and Lumberg jacks.
This pedal was constructed by hand. I sourced the parts, drilled the holes and powder coated the enclosure. I hand soldered all the components and wires. I use heat shrink and hot glue to add durability.
The pedals I build do not include battery snaps and require a standard center negative 9 volt power supply.
Because of the tolerance / type of components, the accuracy of the schematics available, and how they're built, no clone will sound exactly like the original pedal. My listings include a "gut shot" of the pedal so you know exactly what you are purchasing. I am not an electrical engineer, just a guy who loves guitar and enjoys making guitar pedals. Please ask any question you may have prior to making an offer or purchasing this pedal. I am happy to answer any questions you may have.
