Rocktron 120A, System One, 2 channel, Encode / Decode Noise Reduction

I bought this brand new at the beginning of the 90's and never used it.

I plugged it in a few times, but that's it. It's been sitting in a box ever since.

I thought it should go to a good home.

The inventor of the 120A unit noted that this model was better than the dbx units of that time. He said that this model did not have the typical dbx encode/decode artifacts that plague some dbx users on piano recordings etc.

This model barely made it out of prototype and a small production run was made. When they say 2 channels they mean 2 discrete tracks whether it is stereo or not. Rocktron made 8 channel rack models as well.

They were actively marketed in the 1987 time frame ranging from $319 for the 120A to $700 for the 180A. The magazine ads read as follows:

Goodbye Noise!

Nobody does it better when it comes to tape noise reduction. Our System One Encode/Decode models provide incredible results with no side effects.
