Classic AKG C1000S small-diaphragm condenser microphone, dating back to the early 2000s.

Unlike the modern re-issues, this is a highly desirable, original model proudly made in Austria (purchased from the legendary Sound Control in Leeds before they closed). While it has been well-loved and used over the years, it has been exceptionally well cared for and remains in great cosmetic shape and perfect working condition.

Important Technical Note:

Please note that this is an active condenser microphone and is not a passive mic—it requires power to operate. It is incredibly versatile because it can be powered in two different ways:

1. Standard 48V Phantom Power via a regular mixing desk or audio interface.

2. Internal 9V Battery. If you are recording out in the field or using gear without phantom power, you can simply slide a standard 9V battery inside the handle compartment to power the mic completely independently.

Known as the Swiss Army Knife of microphones, the Austrian-built C1000S is incredibly rugged and excels on acoustic guitars, drum overheads, percussion, pianos, and backing vocals.

Please note: The mic clip, pop cover and PPC 1000 hypercardioid adapter are not included (these have disappeared over the years!), but the mic functions beautifully and these accessories can still be purchases widely from online music retailers.
