Vintage Yamaha 9000 / Recording Custom – 4-Piece Drum Kit
A beautiful vintage Yamaha 9000 / Recording Custom kit, believed to date from the 1980s, finished in a gorgeous deep cherry red.
Configuration:
· 22" kick drum
· 13" rack tom
· 14" rack tom
· 16" floor tom
· Original Yamaha double-tom mounting hardware included
This kit has a fantastic history. I toured extensively throughout the UK and Europe with it in the 90s and 2000s, playing in the technical metal band Matter and post-hardcore band Landmine Spring.
It has an absolutely huge, resonant, beautiful sound, particularly the bass drum. Touring sound engineers regularly complimented its sound and asked what kit I was playing. I was always proud to tell them it was a Yamaha 9000!
Condition: This is a well-loved, extensively toured vintage kit, so it has cosmetic battle scars, including scratches, scuffs and some chips in the finish. I've made every effort to document these honestly in the photographs. The shells are structurally sound, with no known structural damage.
The drums were manufactured in both England and Japan, as indicated on their original Yamaha badges.
The kit has been safely stored and unused for approximately 16 years.
Also included: A complete set of four Le Blond hard touring cases, one for each drum. These have protected the kit throughout its touring life and are included in the asking price.
My drumming days are behind me, and I'd love to see this wonderful kit go to someone who will play and enjoy it again. It's far too good an instrument to spend the rest of its life in storage.
A genuine piece of Yamaha drum history, with plenty of life left in it.
