2001 Gibson Les Paul Special Natural Electric Guitar - Used

This 2001 Gibson Les Paul Special is a USA-made example with a stripped-back mahogany construction and a useful set of player-focused modifications.

Finished in Natural, it features a solid mahogany body, set mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and a pair of Gibson P-100 pickups fitted in place of the previous P-90s.

An additional Peter Green-style phase-flip switch provides an alternative out-of-phase tone when both pickups are selected.

Presented in Very Good Condition, weighing 7.86 lbs and supplied without a case.

Gibson P-100 Pickups

The guitar is fitted with a pair of Gibson P-100 stacked soapbar pickups.

Their stacked-coil design reduces the hum associated with traditional P-90 single coils while retaining a broad, mid-focused soapbar character suited to blues, rock and overdriven tones.

Peter Green-Style Phase Switch

An additional phase-flip switch provides an out-of-phase sound when both pickups are selected.

This creates a leaner, more hollow and vocal midrange character inspired by the famous Peter Green-style wiring effect, while the standard neck and bridge pickup sounds remain available.

Fair Deal Music Verdict

This 2001 Gibson Les Paul Special is an interesting player-focused example with considerably more tonal flexibility than a standard Special.

Its Gibson P-100 pickups provide reduced noise while retaining plenty of soapbar character, and the added phase switch introduces a distinctive hollow, vocal sound when both pickups are selected.

Presented in Very Good Condition, weighing 7.86 lbs and supplied without a case, this is a versatile USA-made Gibson with useful modifications and classic mahogany construction.
