The Sony C-47 was Sony's flagship studio mic from the 1970s and the FET-powered sibling of the legendary tube C-37A. Built around the same prized C-3 capsule found in the C-37A (and later the C-800), the C-47 was Sony's most expensive microphone before the C-800 arrived.. nearly double the price of the C-38B at the time. It delivers that same open, extended top end and extended, warm low end the C-37A is famous for, but with more output and a lower noise floor thanks to its solid-state FET design. 

Switchable between omnidirectional and unidirectional/cardioid modes.

If you've been priced out of a C-37A (realistically £6,000+ these days) but need that unmistakable sony character on vocals, acoustic guitar, drum overheads or piano, this is about as close as you'll get for a decent price. Notice on forums some prefer this over a C-37A and others can't tell them apart.

This mic has been well looked after and is being sold to raise funds for other things. Fully functional and performing as it should no electrical or capsule issues, capsule checked and cleaned professionally from dust. Can take photos of capsule on request.
