Gibson ES-335 Ebony Black – 2008 Memphis – Original Pickups & Hard Case

A beautiful example of the Gibson ES-335 in classic Ebony black, made in Gibson's Memphis factory in 2008. Serial number is 0xxx8704.

This is a fantastic semi-hollow electric guitar with the timeless ES-335 look and sound. The black finish, cream binding and rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays make for a particularly striking combination.

The guitar is original and unmodified, retaining its original pickups and hardware. It has seen use but remains in very good overall condition for its age, with only minor cosmetic imperfections as described below.

Condition

Front: The glossy black finish presents very well. There is a light surface scratch on the front of the body, visible on inspection (see pics), which is confined to the finish and is cosmetic only.

Back: There is some slight cloudy discolouration to the black finish on the rear of the body. This appears consistent with superficial finish marking from contact with clothing or handling over time. It is cosmetic rather than structural and is shown in the photographs.

Fret wear is minimal, and the guitar has been well cared for.

The usual minor signs of age and use should be expected on a guitar of this vintage.

A great example of a classic Gibson

I bought this from a guitar shop in Glasgow. At the time of purchase I was able to try it out alongside a Gibson Historic semi-hollow that seemed to float of the hanger but this one just sounded better to my ears. Despite being offered a killer deal on the historic I went for this guitar.
