Up for sale is a vintage Roland BOLT-60, a 60-watt hybrid valve guitar combo amplifier, manufactured in Japan in the early 1980s.

Part of Roland's relatively short-lived BOLT series, this amplifier combines a solid-state preamp with a genuine valve power section, giving it the warmth, dynamics and natural compression associated with traditional valve amplification.

The BOLT-60 features independent Normal and Overdrive channels, a three-band equaliser, built-in spring reverb and a versatile effects loop. With 60 watts driving a single 12-inch speaker, it offers plenty of volume for rehearsals, live performances and studio use.

These early Japanese-made Roland amplifiers are an interesting and relatively uncommon alternative to more conventional Fender and Marshall designs of the period.

Speaker & Internal Details:

• Roland 12" Speaker: Fitted with a Roland Heavy-Duty Transducer, bearing the original Made in Japan marking.
• Valve Power Section: Designed around two 6L6GC power valves and a 12AT7 phase inverter, combined with a solid-state preamp.
• Spring Reverb: Built-in spring reverb with independent level control.
• Effects Loop: Front-panel send and return connections with selectable loop positioning.
• Open-Back Cabinet: Traditional open-back construction with accessible speaker and rear amplifier connections.

Condition & Functionality:

• Working Condition: The amplifier is in good working order, with both Normal and Overdrive channels functioning as they should.
• Reverb: The Reverb control is slightly scratchy when adjusted, but the reverb itself works fine. The potentiometer may benefit from contact cleaning.
• Cosmetics: Good overall vintage condition with visible signs of age and use.
• Front Grille: The original woven grille cloth has some visible scratches and pulled fibres caused by a cat. These are purely cosmetic and do not affect the amplifier's performance.
• Cabinet: Original-style black textured covering with minor scuffs, edge wear and marks consistent with its age.
• Control Panel: The original black and orange control panel presents well, with all knobs present and lettering largely intact.
• Hardware: Original-style carry handle, corner protectors and rear fittings, showing some age-related wear.
