This second-hand guitar is in excellent overall condition. There is a small, surface-level scratch on the front of the guitar, as shown in the photographs. Aside from this minor cosmetic mark, the guitar is in excellent condition and is working perfectly.
One of the biggest advantages of the Yamaha FG720SL is its ability to deliver a full and expressive acoustic sound without being overly complicated or difficult to play. The dreadnought body produces a generous amount of volume and projection, making it particularly well suited to players who enjoy a strong strumming sound. The spruce top also gives the guitar plenty of clarity, allowing individual notes and chord voicings to remain defined even when played with a heavier attack.
The FG720SL is also a particularly practical choice for left-handed guitarists. Yamaha has designed the instrument specifically around a left-handed playing position, meaning the bridge, bracing and other elements are correctly orientated for left-handed use. This makes it a much more natural choice than simply restringing a right-handed acoustic guitar, while still retaining the familiar feel and proportions of a traditional dreadnought.
The comfortable neck profile makes the guitar suitable for a wide variety of playing styles. Whether you're working through open chords, practising barre chords further up the neck or experimenting with fingerpicking, the FG720SL provides a dependable platform for developing your technique. The rosewood fingerboard offers a smooth playing surface, while the traditional scale length gives the guitar a familiar feel that will suit players moving from other acoustic guitars.
Visually, the Natural finish allows the grain of the wood to remain a major part of the guitar's appeal. The understated traditional styling means it looks at home in almost any musical setting, from a bedroom practice space to a live acoustic performance. Yamaha's attention to construction and finishing gives the FG720SL the appearance and feel of an instrument designed to be played regularly rather than simply displayed.
The FG series has long been associated with reliable, straightforward acoustic guitars that offer excellent musical performance, and the FG720SL is a great example of this approach. It provides plenty of volume, a pleasing tonal balance and the reassuring build quality Yamaha is known for. For a left-handed guitarist looking for a well-established Yamaha acoustic with a solid spruce top and classic dreadnought character, the FG720SL is an excellent option.
