Jackson RR3 1996 Made in Japan - Transparent Blue w/Bare Knuckle Warpigs + Case

Japanese-made Jackson Rhoads RR3 Professional finished in Transparent Blue, fitted with genuine UK-handwound Bare Knuckle Warpig humbuckers and supplied with its original Jackson hard case.

The previous owner was kind enough to take a look 'under the hood' and remove the neck and bridge to discover the guitar's lineage. The neck heel carries an RR-3 factory marking, accompanied by corresponding production markings within the neck pocket.

The double-locking tremolo has also been removed and identified as a period Takeuchi unit stamped MADE IN JAPAN.

Pickups

The original pickups have previously been replaced with a pair of genuine Bare Knuckle Warpig humbuckers, high-output passive pickups carrying the prestigious Gold award from Guitarist Magazine.

Condition & servicing

For a Japanese Jackson of its age, this example is in particularly impressive condition.

It naturally carries some marks and evidence of previous use, and buyers should study the photographs carefully as these form part of the description. However, the Transparent Blue finish remains beautifully vibrant and the vulnerable extremities of the Rhoads body have survived remarkably well.

The guitar has been stripped down and thoroughly inspected. Its hardware has been removed/serviced as required, electronics checked, Bare Knuckle pickups removed and verified, factory neck and pocket markings documented and Takeuchi tremolo removed, identified and serviced.

The fingerboard and fretwork have been attended to where required before the guitar was rebuilt, restrung and given a complete professional setup.

This is not a completely factory-original example due to the upgraded pickups, but the Bare Knuckles represent a high-quality and desirable modification.

The combination of Japanese manufacture, documented RR-3 factory markings, period MIJ Takeuchi hardware, genuine Bare Knuckle pickups, excellent overall preservation and original Jackson hard case makes this a particularly interesting example.
