Personal Thoughts:
This is a seriously classy Collings and one of the most refined signature guitars on the market. The 470 JL was developed around Julian Lage’s preference for a lightweight, highly responsive semi-hollow electric, and it has a distinctly old-school feel without simply copying a traditional Gibson design. The Antiquated Blonde finish suits it perfectly, giving the guitar a warm, understated appearance that works beautifully with the rosewood board and aged nickel hardware.

What makes the 470 JL particularly appealing is the way it bridges acoustic sensitivity and electric-guitar control. The semi-hollow construction gives the guitar an immediate, resonant response, while the humbuckers retain clarity and articulation rather than becoming overly thick or compressed. It is the sort of instrument that rewards a lighter touch and really responds to changes in picking dynamics, but still has enough body and sustain for blues, jazz, rock and more expressive lead playing.

The Antiquated treatment adds just enough age and character without making the guitar look artificially beaten up. A beautifully considered high-end Collings with exceptional build quality, a distinctive voice and strong appeal to both serious players and collectors.
