Picture this its 1972 I am 18 years old and have ordered a brand new Hiwatt 100 head from the manufactures

To say I was excited was an understatement! – I remember there was a month or so manufacturing cycle for it to be delivered.

At the time being a massive Who fan – having seen them at the Dunstable Civic Center on April 27th 1970 with Keith Moon

What a show ! and the volume !   I remember the PA was supplied by WEM electronic wall to wall loudspeakers  and was so loud I could not hear

My motorbike running after – my ears rang for 2 days-

Any how I digress – This  very early 1972 amp head is now for sale – this amp has never gone wrong in 54 years!And therefore is totally virgin regarding

OEM Parts transformers- pots – capacitors – everything! – apart from the valves and 2 replacement chickenbeak knobs -  which unfortunately had to be replaced over the years I have been giging with it

Power amp valves are Peavy EL34’s which I replace in the 80’s and the preamp valves are Chinese versions of ECC83

As you can see the Tolex has a few minor rips after 100’s of gigs – but this is not a show piece amp it has been a workhorse that has performed faultlessly for half a century!

Absolutely no returns due to parts harvesting risk – (well you guys would know that anyway :0) )
