The Bowers & Wilkins PV1D is an active subwoofer built around a 400W Class-D amplifier and a balanced-drive design pairing two 200mm Paper-Kevlar/aluminium composite cone drivers in a spherical die-cast pressure vessel enclosure - a construction that actively cancels cabinet resonance rather than simply suppressing it. Frequency response extends to ±3dB at 7.5Hz, and DSP derived from B&W's flagship DB1 platform provides five movie/music EQ presets and six speaker-matching presets, all navigated via an OLED display with a touch-sensitive interface. Connectivity covers stereo RCA line inputs, speaker-level input, RS-232 for automation and B&W SubApp control, and a 12V trigger for remote on/standby switching.
