Traditional Lauan wood shells

Since its introduction in the 1960s, lauan has been altered and improved to provide a throwback, vintage sound. Lauan comes from the lauan tree in Southeast Asia, and became infamous for making cheap drums with little to no credit. The reality of Lauan, however, is far from that of a cheap tonewood. It produces an immersive, warm response with a medium-short decay, sitting perfectly in the mix. And when paired with other vintage components, lauan shells offer a solid foundation for any rhythm section.
