1991 Epiphone Casino Cherry Made in Japan Terada Factory, MIJ, Pre-Elitist, Import

For sale is a particularly nice example of a 1991 Made in Japan Epiphone Casino, featuring a beautifully figured bird's-eye maple body and finished in a gracefully aged "Watermelon" Cherry—a seldom seen finish that perfectly captures the character of a '60s Casino.

Built by the renowned Terada Factory exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, these Casinos have earned an outstanding reputation among players and collectors alike. Widely regarded as some of the finest Casino reissues ever produced, they are celebrated for their exceptional build quality, attention to detail, and vintage-correct feel—often surpassing many of their contemporary American-made counterparts. This guitar is a superb example of that craftsmanship.

The guitar remains in great condition, reflecting decades of careful ownership. Aside from a few light cosmetic blemishes consistent with age and use, it is clean, with no structural issues or repairs. There are a few small chips to some of the control knobs, and the treble tone knob is missing its top insert. These are purely cosmetic issues and do not affect the guitar's playability or functionality.

The comfortable slim C-profile neck is fitted with a 1 9/16" bone nut and a rosewood fingerboard, all of which remain in clean condition. The original 22 frets show only minimal wear, providing a smooth, effortless playing experience. There is a blister in the finish at the front, bass side of the headstock (pictured) but this is the only real noteworthy mark.

The original nickel hardware has developed a tasteful natural patina that beautifully complements the aged Watermelon Cherry finish, enhancing the guitar's vintage aesthetic. The stock electronics function exactly as they should, while the original P-90 pickups deliver the unmistakable Casino voice—rich, open, and articulate, with the warmth, clarity, and bite that have made this model a favourite for generations.

The original pickguard was removed by a previous owner and is no longer included. An aftermarket leather gig bag accompanies the guitar.
