Stewart Copeland's reggae-inspired drum sounds helped propel some of the most successful rock music of the late 1970s and '80s. We've recreated the sound at Chicago's Rax Trax Recording, with tape delay snares, creative mic'ing, and expert mixing. All royalty free and fair use—download and use them at will.Jessica Burdeaux's playing was recorded with an array of mics: Neumann FET U47 on the kick, Shure SM-57 on the snare; three Sennheiser 421 dynamic mics on each of the toms, Coles 4038s as overheads, and Schoeps V4U condensers for room mics. They were recorded into an SSL console and mixed by Noam Wallenberg.
