We are a family of collectors based in Sydney Australia. For the last thirty years we have bought and sold guitars, amplifiers and ukuleles from all over the globe through partnerships in both Australia and the USA. However, most have remained in our private collection.
Rather than keeping our passion hidden we have decided to share it with the public in an online museum dedicated to showcasing these amazing instruments, plus we'll have a few that are for sale.
A collection starts with one thing, and then it just sort of happens.
Well, that’s exactly the case with Frets & Strings, it was a Gibson Les Paul that started it. It was the third guitar purchased BUT the first guitar to be collected. We already owned an electric (Charvel) and an acoustic (Maton) that we used to gig and record with, but the Gibson was the first to join just because we liked it, we didn’t need it. From there it went nuts!
​Thirty years on and we have amassed an array of vintage guitars, basses, amplifiers and ukuleles; plus some uber cool effects along the way.
We're working on a website to showcase all our prized possessions but while we're at it we thought we'd drop a few teasers on here.
