I am a one man show. I have been playing guitars and hot rodding guitars since I was 15, 35 years. I am a 3rd generation carpenter of 26 years. I have a small shoppe in Clearwater, Florida. I build the guitars here in the shoppe and put them in the showroom when finished. I use various types of woods for all the builds. All of the finishing and set up are done in house. I am not a manufacturer of guitars I build guitars one at a time. I keep my prices where people can afford them with out cutting corners in the build. I use my own blend of light wood oil for the necks.
I use 1950's style cloth wiring in all the guitars. I use Alnico II magnets in the pick up and pot them on site. If I have good sounding name brand pick ups I may use them or use my Rat Rods. Bourne or comparable potentiometers are always used in the guitar. Nothing goes out my door unless I would show up to a gig with it and play it. I love being inspired by an incredible sounding guitar! The main mission in the shoppe is to bring affordable custom made guitars to you. When I was kid I loved going to the guitar shoppe. I never liked the prices of the name brand Slave built guitars so Rat Rod Guitars are not built by illegal immigrants or done by slave labor. They are built right here.
