We are a high end audio equipment manufacturer located in the small town of Benton Harbor, MI. The company was originally founded in the late 90’s by owners Bill Skibbe and Jessica Ruffins.
In 1997 with the famous LA2A compressor out of production, vintage units being extremely expensive, and the two in need of a unit for an upcoming session at Electrical Audio, Bill and Jessica decided to develop what would become their first product; the Red Stripe limiter, a modified version of the original classic. Within a few months, the word got out, and the two decided to do a full production run. Officially starting the company.
A few years later Bill and Jessica opened their studio, Key Club Recording Co, featuring Sly Stone’s very own Flickinger MOD-N-32 recording console. After years of enjoying working on the legendary console and being in love with its unique sound the the decision was made to start developing a recreation of the original preamplifier circuit. The result of these efforts became our famous 736-5 preamplifier.
With a great appreciation for vintage circuits, we are committed to producing quality recording equipment that not only sounds incredible but looks inspiring.
